It's a case of out with the old and in with the slightly older in next week's fiery episode.
'House of the Dragon' episode six will see the biggest jump in time yet, with two of the central characters getting a glow-up (of sorts).
Milly Alcock and Emily Carey have been playing Rhaenyra Targaryen and Alicent Hightower for the past five episodes of the first season (episode five dropped on Sky Atlantic and NOW earlier today), but this latest episode marks the very last time we'll see them both on screen as the uncomfortable step-mother and step-daughter duo (where were former BFFs).
As the 'Game of Thrones' prequel series hurdles through the years, episodes six to ten will see their replacements take centre stage - Emma D'Arcy as a slightly older Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Olivia Cooke as a slightly older (but still incredibly young) Alicent Hightower. The episode will be called 'The Princess and the Queen'.
But they're not the only cast changes in store for us, as all of their respective children and cousins have also grown considerably in age. Following on from episode five's Royal Wedding, and all of the awkwardness that it entailed, there are a lot of new developments to pay attention to in the trailer for next week's episode.
It remains to be seen how well this casting change-over goes down with fans of the show. In the build-up to the season premiere back in August, the promotional material predominantly featured D'Arcy and Cooke, but we didn't expect to only see them from episode six onwards. With a second season on the way, will the actors be replaced during the second instalment by slightly older counterparts?
