In case you weren't aware, Hannah Waddingham stole the show in Tim Curry's 'Spamalot' on the West End 15 years ago.
The actress, who won an Emmy Award for her supporting role in 'Ted Lasso' last week, has enjoyed a successful career both on our TV screens and in musical productions on stage. Her musical theatre appearances come in the form of 'The Wizard Of Oz' and 'Into The Woods', but an unearthed video shows that she was also a scene-stealer in the 'Spamalot' comedy show from the world of Monty Python.
Cast as The Lady of the Lake, Hannah Waddingham joins the 'Spamalot' stage first kitted out head to toe in armour before ripping it off to reveal a showstopping dress. Picking up the microphone as the audience celebrates her entry on stage, she urges them, "Don't stop!", before showing just what those pipes of hers can do.

Hannah Waddingham starred in the 'Spamalot' stage show from 2006 to 2007 in London's West End, followed by the show's Broadway run in 2008. The video above is from the 2006 Royal Variety Performance at the London Coliseum.
Around this time is when Waddingham began to branch out from her stage work. In the 2000s, she appeared in 'Footballer's Wives' before landing her first movie role in Simon Pegg's 'How to Lose Friends & Alienate People'. She also played Septa "Shame" Unella in 'Game of Thrones' for a number of episodes, and appeared in seasons two and (briefly) three of 'Sex Education' on Netflix.
With 'Ted Lasso' greenlit a third season on Apple TV+, and an Emmy Award under her wing, the future certainly is bright for the comedy/musical theatre star.
