'Grey's Anatomy' is due to finish up this season early, as the remaining four episodes weren't ready in time before the US began restriction measures.

TVLine reports that the April 9th episode, 'Put On A Happy Face', will be the last episode of the current season, although four more episodes were due to be completed before then. So far, it's not yet known when those episodes will be completed and aired.

The official synopsis for the episode reads as follows: "Link tries to convince Amelia to take it easy during the final stage of her pregnancy; Hayes asks Meredith a surprising question; Owen makes a shocking discovery.”

In a tweet yesterday, showrunner and executive producer Krista Vernoff said that while it wasn't originally planned to end on that episode, it still feels like a "satisfying finale."

"It’s not where we planned to end, but it’s beautiful & the questions that linger we will answer next year," later correcting herself by saying "next season."

It's not all bad news, however.

'Grey's Anatomy' joined other TV shows in donating its PPE, masks, and scrubs to local hospitals in the Los Angeles area, along with shows like 'Station 19'. Not only that, but it's also understood some sound stages for movies and TV shows could be converted into treatment centres if needed.

'Grey's Anatomy' will finish out its episodes on ABC in the next two weeks, with those episodes being aired over here on RTÉ, Sky Witness and NOW TV.
