The first semi-final for this year's Eurovision Song Contest took place last night and it was a disappointing result for Ireland.
You can't deny that Lesley Roy, who performed the number 'Maps' in the competition, certainly gave it socks. But the singer failed to land a place in the Eurovision final, which takes place this Saturday.
Norway, Israel, Russia, Azerbaijan, Malta, Lithuania, Cyprus, Sweden, Belgium and Ukraine were the countries to advance onto the final.

'Maps' was written by Lesley and Philip Strand, Emelie Eriksson and Lukas Hällgren specifically for the competition. Her 2020 entry 'Story of My Life' was released as a single rather than re-entered in this year’s competition.
The Eurovision performance saw the Dublin singer perform much of her track while running barefoot on a treadmill behind stage props before emerging onto the stage.
Irish presenter Marty Whelan praised Roy, saying "Balbriggan will be proud after a fantastic performance."
BBC Eurovision tweeted: "Lesley Roy is putting Ireland on the #Eurovision map with this performance."
Others on Twitter were left a little baffled by Roy's Eurovision performance.
They weren't so much unimpressed by the singer or song, as they were by the cheesy staging.
The second Eurovision semi-final takes place on Thursday night, airing on RTÉ Two at 8 p.m.
The Eurovision final airs on Saturday. You can watch it from 8 p.m. on RTÉ One or BBC One.
