Series creator of 'American Horror Story', Ryan Murphy, has recently said that the horror anthology series could continue for many more years.
Speaking to Variety while celebrating the TV show's monumental 100th episode airing this week, the creator said that he's already thinking whether the series should really finish up at the end of season 10.
Originally ordered for a 10 season run, Murphy said: "It’s one of the most popular shows in the world, so I will continue to have an appetite to do it as long as John [J. Grey - Producer] wants to do it. So, we have been talking about should we end it? Or should we keep moving forward? But I hope we can move forward."
Currently halfway through it's ninth season, 'AHS:1984', Murphy says that he already has a couple of ideas as to where the series could go for its next instalment. He said: "I always have the next season decided by Halloween, so I have a week.
"But now I’m sort of dealing with two ideas and I lean towards whichever is more in my brain right now. Every season has a runner-up idea, but the runner-ups have never made it on screen. I’ve never gone back to the second choice, although I should. Sometimes the choice just pops into my brain. I can’t explain it."
Throughout its horror-filled run, some of the seasons have overlapped with each-other. Take season eight, 'AHS: Apocalypse' for example, which combined characters and settings from three different seasons and tied up loose-ends.
Asked whether that might happen again in season 10, the creator teased: 'I don’t know if I will ever do happy endings for some of them because I think the world is too dark for a lot of happy endings, but maybe.
"We’ve talked about it. But we would only do that when it’s like 'this is the end.' If I have a final button, I will pop that cork."
Ryan Murphy has been an extremely busy man in Hollywood of late, creating some of TV's biggest shows, including 'American Crime Story', 'Pose', and Netflix's 'The Politician'.
