Colombia v Ivory Coast (Kick-off 5.00pm) RTE 2, BBC1

These are arguably the strongest sides in their group, and both enjoyed victories in their opening fixtures, with Colombia comfortably defeating Greece 3-0, and the Ivory Coast coming from behind to beat Japan 2-1. As this particular writer actually has Columbia in the World Cup sweepstakes here in, here's hoping it's their day!

Uruguay v England (Kick-off 8.00pm) RTE 2, UTV

The pressure is very much on for these sides today as there's no second chances - the loser of this game will go home, won't pass Go and won't collect.... well you get the point. England may have lost their opener to Italy by 2-1, but they were certainly looking stronger against them than Uruguay were in their game against Costa Rica, so here's hoping our neighbours seal the deal on this one.

Japan v Greece (Kick-off 11.00pm) RTE 2, BBC1

Similar to above, both of these nations need a victory to get their campaigns back on track, as both teams lost their opening matches. Whatever happens though, at least we know those lovely Japaneses fans won't being leaving a mess behind them when they go home.
