In the first episode of the new series, Ray and his wild ways explores the stunning Caledonian Pine Forest in the Scottish Highlands. Always handy if you find yourself stranded while on holiday there. These ancient forests once spread across thousands of kilometres of the Highlands, yet now only a few remnants remain. Today they’re home to rare species such as the capercaillie (a turkey-sized grouse), the osprey (fish eating birds of prey) and the red squirrel. Expect them all to be eaten. Only joking. You will see a fair amount of action from them though. Not so much the red squirrel - he has to go on the hunt for one of those 'cause they're nigh a dying breed.
