More than ever we are thinking about the food we are putting into our bodies, and if it's not gluten that's public enemy number one, it's salt or sugar. This new series sees presenter Philip Boucher-Hayes look into what people are eating and if they really know just what's in it. Up until the 1950s, food was a relatively simple matter, with narrow choice and a constant battle to keep food fresh. Nowadays though with mass production, intensive farming, and even just plain old refrigeration, we have much more choice and lower prices to boot. In the first episode of this series, Philip looks at how the Irish consumer has changed over the years, and is joined by chef Hilary O'Hagan to look at processed meat products and the Paleo diet.
