While this show may be riding the coat tails of Orange is the New Black a bit, it still looks promising enough with a second and third series already commissioned. If you remember the famous Australian drama Prisoner: Cell Block H then this is actually a contemporary reworking of that and follows the lives of the inmates and wardens of a women's jail. Leading these cast of characters is suburban wife and mother Bea Snith, who arrives at Wentworth on remand after being charged with the attempted murder of her abusive husband. She quickly finds herself persuaded to carry a package of drugs by a charismatic inmate Franky Doyle, but it's not looking good for her when she is caught with the stash by prison governor Meg Jackson.
