As Benjamin Franklin said, nothing is certain in this world except death and taxes, yet the former is something many of us struggle to talk about, deal with, or even acknowledge is a part of life. For obvious reasons really, it's devastating losing someone, so why deal with it until we have to? Thing is though, talking about it may actually make things easier for everyone, and those left behind can find a way forward. Norah Casey presents this doc which explores Ireland's relationship with death, she talks to healthcare professionals as well as people with terminal illnesses who share their thoughts on the last months of their lives. She asks why people don't talk about or make plans for dying and features some great contributions from the likes of Gabriel Byrne, Marian Finucane and George Hook.
