The biggest bike event of the year begins today in England where the opening stages of the Tour de France begins. The riders will cycle the 190.5km journey from Leeds to Harrogate in what is the first of three stages of the race in England. Irish hopes for the race will be resting on the shoulders of Nicolas Roche who will undoubtedly be hoping to emulate the success of his father Stephen, who cycled to victory in the race back in 1987. We're pretty sure that's unlikely enough but sure we'll keep our fingers crossed for the lad anyways.
