Those of you that have seen the compelling performance of Elizabeth Moss in The Handmaid's Tale recently will no doubt want to see the former Mad Men star in the second season of the critically acclaimed Top of the Lake. Written by Oscar winner Jane Campion, it's first outing was back in 2013 when Detective Robin Griffin (Moss) was brought into a case in a remote mountain town in New Zealand. For this season, she is back in Sydney, eager to throw herself into her work, while secretly planning to search for the daughter she gave up for adoption. However, when a suitcase containing the body of a young woman washes up on Bondi Beach, Robin and her new partner Miranda, played by Game of Thrones Gwendoline Christie (Brienne!), begin an investigation that leads them into the dark side of Sydney's sex industry. And guess what, Nicole Kidman also turns up in this second season looking very un-Nicole-Kidman like. She will play an Australian mother named Julia whose own story intersects with Robin’s.
