There's loads of excitement for The Walshes tonight, and high expectations too, as it comes from Father Ted writer and director Graham Linehan. The show, which originally began as an internet series, caught the attention of the talented director a few years ago, and under his watchful eye, it will now make its national TV debut. It tells the story of the Walsh family from the Dublin suburb of Strollinstown, and stars comedy troupe Diet of Worms in the leading roles. There's Carmel, your typical Irish mammy fussing over everyone, while Dad Tony is the professional egit, and 25 year old Rory is the teenager trapped in a man's body. Things then get very cosy in the house as daughter Ciara has her boyfriend Graham movie in. Certainly has all the elements for comedy gold, so fingers are firmly crossed this lives up to expectation. Who knows, maybe this will be the next show we will be quoting forever more! Could be, Ted.
