Dublin's O'Connell Street is one of the country's best-known thoroughfares and is filled with history from the events of the 1916 Rising down to the generations of traders that have worked on the street, and of course, the bombing of Nelson's Pillar that later led to the erection of that gigantic needle in the middle of the street known as The Spire. However, the Champs-Elysees it ain't, at least at the moment anyways, although as this programme shows there are big plans to revitalise the street on time for the Easter Rising centenary. This documentary will meet those involved with the celebrations as well as the people who live and work there, from florists to newspaper vendors.
