It's the end of an era on RTE1 tonight as Brendan O'Connor presents his last ever Saturday Night Show. It's a pity as he really was just finding his groove but he will be back with a new show next year apparently. September will see Ray D'Arcy taking over Saturday nights on RTE and we are looking forward to seeing what he brings to the table. Joining Brendan to mark his last show will be Blur bassist Alex James who will talk about the bands recent reunion, impressionist Oliver Callan, celebrity chef Dylan McGrath, and Labour TD John Lyons talks about this momentous past week for Ireland. While the hugely talented 16-year-old singer-songwriter Soak will also be performing.
Speaking about the final show Brendan said; "It’s been an incredible run. I never thought when we took to the airwaves back in 2010 that we would receive such a positive reaction from viewers, so it’s been great. I want to say a huge thanks to Larry and the rest of the team for all their support and hard work over the years, it has been a privilege and a pleasure working with each of them. It’s been an amazing show to work on and it’s brilliant to be going out on such a high. And don’t forget I’ll be back in the New Year with a brand new show so viewers won’t have the opportunity to miss me too much."
