Probably the best out of the entire series, Catching Fire sees Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen dealing with the fallout from conquering the tournament - on her own terms - in the first one and the political ramifications. Philip Seymour Hoffman turns in a slyly understated performance as Plutarch, a skilled political operator who's deeply embedded with Donald Sutherland's dictatorial regime. More violent than you'd expect, Catching Fire is the best example of a young adult novel done correctly.
