Architect Hugh Wallace follows the restoration of an 1850s regency style mansion, the Middleton Park House, in Co Westmeath. Carolyn and Michael McDonnell, together with Carolyn's brother Henry, own this expansive property in Castletown Geoghegan. Built during the famine, it was last in use as a hotel, but has deteriorated quickly over its three unoccupied years. The trio's aim is to create a family home that can host Henry's children at the weekends and extended family all year-round. However, they need to work out how to change industrial-style aspects to make it economical to run.
