Last week it was all about bread and we waved goodbye to another baker, and this evening the remaining 11 contestants will be putting their dessert-making skills to the test. First on the menu is a signature trifle, which must feature biscuit, cake, jelly or custard in distinct layers. Then it's time for the bakers to show off their technical skills with a creme anglaise, before pulling out all the stops to impress Paul and Mary with their very own petits fours. Oh, and Mel will be exploring the origins of the trifle.
