Brendan Gleeson stars in this noir biopic about the life, times and eventual death of Martin 'The General' Cahill, Dublin's most notorious criminal. Shot completely in black and white by veteran director John Boorman, The General follows his early days prowling through Southside Dublin to his infamous Beit heist and his eventual death. Pretty decent, but you could argue it's glamourising a murderous criminal who terrorised Dublin throughout the '80s and '90s.
