In 1971, two warring brothers reunite after years of disharmony and grudges to compete in the ceili competition in County Clare. While John-Joe McMahon (Bernard Hill) stayed at home to mind the farm on his own, his bounder brother Jimmy (Colm Meaney) left to seek his fortune in Liverpool after seducing John-Joe's then girlfriend, and now piano player, Maisie (Charlotte Brady). As the brothers attempt to sabotage each other's performances, love blossoms between Maisie's daughter Anne (Andrea Corr) and Jimmy's Liverpool-born son Teddy. There are a few laughs to be had in this one but the parochial nature of the story means you've heard all the jokes before. Hill and Meaney do their best with the material but there's a reason Andrea Corr hasn't acted since.
