Anyone who has read this book by Irish author John Boyne will know what they are getting themselves in for here, but then it is pretty obvious that any movie set in Nazi Germany does not end well. It tells the story of Bruno, a boy who must move to the country with his parents when his father is placed in charge of a concentration camp. He goes exploring one day and meets another little boy, who in his mind, simply lives at the other side of a fence. The little lad quickly becomes the best of friends with this boy in the striped pyjamas, innocently oblivious to the camp's true purpose. Oh dear... reckon you should have the tissues at the ready for this one.
