Tom Hardy's new series continues tonight, in case you missed it so far, the historical drama sees James Delaney (Hardy) return to London in 1814 after being presumed dead in Africa many years before. He is back to seek vengeance for the death of his father but is also set to inherit what is left of his family's shipping empire. His return not only threatens to disrupt the plans of his half-sister Zilpha and her husband Thorne, but also the political ambitions of the mighty East India Company, chaired by Sir Stuart Strange. In tonight's third episode, James finds himself alone with the mysterious Dr Dumbarton (House of Cards' Michael Kelly) and ends up discovering he has an unlikely ally. However, with enemies lurking in every corner of London society, James realises Dumbarton's friendship will be but the first in a series of perilous affiliations he will need to make if he is to complete his mission - or avoid meeting an untimely fate. As he works to prevent further attempts on his life, James realises the only way to slip the gaze of his enemies is to give them a more pliable target to destroy in his place.
