This powerful documentary looks at the young women in Northern Iraq who joined the Iraqi army to fight ISIS. Stacey Dooley ventures to the frontline with the all-female Yazidi battalion. These women are fuelled to take revenge against the so-called Islamic State after extremists kidnapped, raped and tortured 5,000 women and children while slaying their sons and husbands in 2014. Many members of the battalion themselves suffered and survived rape, torture and genocide under Isis. They are now determined to rescue the thousands of Yazidi women still who remain captive. Dooley’s interviews with the soldiers reveal happy memories of the soldiers’ lives as well as unimaginable traumas.
