Coronation Street actress Michelle Collins, who plays Stella Price on the soap is majorly peed off that she is not getting enough screen time. To be honest, I hadn't noticed we weren't seeing that much of Stella anymore, but she certainly has. The actress replied to a tweet which questioned why the character had become more or less an extra on the soap, and Michelle was quick to agree:
@carljohnjohnson tell me about it !!!!! X

She had also tweeted previous to this saying;"'It's so nice people are missing me on @itvcorrie. I'm sorry but Stella's become a bit of a minor character now it's a shame I know !!"
It was announced in August the star was due to leave the soap this year, and according to the show's producer Stuart Blackburn, it will be a quiet exit. She will NOT be happy with that!
He said: "It's a very quiet exit because we've had so many big ones and there are massive ones coming up." He then went on to say - "It's an exit where she's trying to do the right thing by Leanne. There's a space and time where her exit might help Leanne. There's also a sense of Stella looking at Gloria and her lust for life. She's also looking at Eva who's with Jason. She thinks, 'I'm not dead yet - I'm only 50 and there's a whole world out there'."
Stella had been part of a major Corrie storyline last year involving the fire in the Rovers, but since then, she has really just been hanging around the Bistro. Maybe that will catch on fire? Clutching at straws for her now. It was great for Leanne to get her real mum back and all, but perhaps she has simply served her purpose. Harsh aul world, soap life!
The actress was previously in EastEnders too, as the STILL talked about Cindy Beale. However, not sure she will leave behind such a legacy in Corrie. But look, they're not killing her off or anything so the door is always open. So it's not ALL bad, Michelle.
