This documentary looks at the daily lives, struggles and triumphs of a number of young Irish people living with schizophrenia. Even though Irish people are becoming more open to talking about mental health, most conversations centre on depression and anxiety, with conditions like schizophrenia remaining taboo. In this programme, they speak openly about what it’s like to live with such a severe mental health disorder as they struggle with delusional thoughts and the internal voices that are so associated with schizophrenia. We see how, in their own ways, they are managing the condition and taking control rather than letting it control them.
