In the third programme of the current jowl-jangling outlet for Gerry, he returns to Los Angeles (how did he pay for that, then?) to interview Conan O'Brien, currently one of the most influential figures in the US Entertainment industry. Ryan meets up with him at Universal Studios in Hollywood, where Conan presents the Tonight Show. The show has been on air in various forms since 1953, and is widely regarded as the flagship of network television in the USA. Conan has been presenting the show since June of this year when he took over from Jay Leno, but he had already had a long and distinguished career on a range of other TV series, such as writing for Saturday Night Live, and The Simpsons. In this interview, Conan talks candidly about the highs and lows of an extraordinary career, explaining why he feels ambivalent about his success, and why his skin 'only feels comfortable in Ireland' *jigs quietly*. He also provides ample evidence to show why he is regarded as one of the funniest broadcasters on American TV screens.
