A fitting time to repeat this RTE documentary given that football season has kicked off once more. Shown originally last November, it sees TV and radio presenter Stephen Byrne looking at why soccer players are hesitant to come out as gay. He observes how this is an issue from the grassroots to the high leagues, and tries to understand why football is stereotypically ‘a straight game.’ As part of the programme, Stephen interviews a number of individuals with interesting insights on the matter, including former England international Graeme Le Saux, ex Welsh and British Lions captain Gareth Thomas, and ex- Leeds United and current LA Galaxy player Robbie Rogers.
