Selfridges are smack bang in the middle of the first World War, and things start becoming very real for them all tonight. The new Defence of the Realm Act means lights across London must go out at night - including of course, Selfridges landmark shop windows. As well as this, with so many of the men signing up for duty, the women are now working in the loading bay and struggling to adjust. Harry himself wishes he could do more for the war effort, while Gordon can't stop thinking about the lads on the front line and wishes he could fight. It's not all doom and gloom though, as Lord Loxley suddenly seems to be in the money, while Miss Mardle entertains a surprising house guest. Never a dull moment in good old Selfridges 'ey?
