It's final week on MasterChef Ireland and the search for Ireland's first ever MasterChef is nearly over. Tonight sees the first part of the final and the three remaining amateur cooks take on a Michelin-starred challenge, cooking at the highest level of fine dining in Michelin star kitchens in Dublin. They will each cook an evening service at a one Michelin star restaurant in Dublin, including Bon Appetit in Malahide, Co Dublin, L'Ecrivain in Dublin and Ross Lewis's restaurant Chapter One also in Dublin. In the second part of the challenge the stakes get even higher as they do service in the renowned two Michelin star Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud. Each contestant will be on either starter, main course or dessert and they will be cooking for their MasterChef lives. If you couldn't give two hoots about two blondes squinting furiously while the guy quietly cocks everything up (no, I can't believe Christine's gone either), you might prefer to switch to Mayday at the Fastnet Rock over on RTE1 at 10.15pm. This documentary details the rescue of the 21 crew members who were onboard US yacht Rambler 100, when it capsized off the coast of Cork during a race in August.
