It will see the food writer celebrate the everyday food and ingredients she has always loved, from hearty and wholesome ideas to dishes that are a little bit more indulgent. Mary begins by travelling to Scotland to enjoy the best of the country's staple foods, preparing recipes inspired by her own Scots heritage. She discovers wonderful shellfish in Ullapool, joins chef Tom Kitchin to share the joy of venison cooked on a barbecue and whips up her special whisky cream on the banks of a loch.
