Another documentary from RTE about an individual who has made Ireland their adopted home. This week will look at the life of animator Jimmy Murakami whose Japanese-American family were evacuated to a camp in the Californian desert during the Second World War. They were branded as 'non-aliens', which referred to their status at the time, being neither citizen nor foreigner. The film explores his Hollywood career and his return to the camp where he is reminded of his anger with the American government. It also takes a look at his experiences after he arrived in Ireland, which he considered to be his home. It sadly serves as a tribute to this fascinating man, who passed away in February of this year.
