As part of Channel 4’s Dispatches series, which is centred on investigative current affairs, this programme examines the other side of the war against the so-called Islamic State, looking into allegations of torture, execution and sectarian cleansing by the Shia militia against their fellow Iraqis. It also investigates allegations of kidnap, extortion and the forced displacement of Sunni refugees from their homes. Dispatches reporter Ramita Navai reports from outside Mosul, going undercover to meet victims. She discovers that, backed by Iran, some groups are using the opportunity of war against Isis to brutally settle sectarian and historic scores. It all points to a bleak future in Iraq after Isis.
