Quentin Tarantino's wartime black comedy is surely one of his best yet, although it's way too hard to choose with his back catalogue. It stars Brad Pitt as American officer Aldo Raine, who leads a squad of soldiers into occupied France, on a mission to kill as many Nazis as possible. Along the way they become involved in a Jewish resistance fighter's plan to blow up the premiere of a propaganda movie - due to be attended by Hitler himself. Great cast too - with Melanie Laurent, Diane Kruger, Michael Fassbender and Christoph Waltz, who won an Oscar for his performance. Typical to Tarantino, it is of course graphically violent, but it's a roller coaster of thrills too that will make for excellent entertainment of a Thursday night.
