Deirdre O'Kane is on hosting duties once more for the 14th annual IFTA awards ceremony, celebrating the best Irish film and television of the past year. The awards actually took place on Saturday night but everybody realised a few years ago it probably wasn't the BEST idea to show them live. Nominees include A Date for Mad Mary and The Secret Scripture for Best Feature Film, while Colm Meaney is up for an award for his role in The Journey, where he plays the late Martin McGuinness. He's also in a category with Jamie Dornan and Michael Fassbender, but given the historical context and the fact that Colm is actually showing up, we'd imagine he has it in the bag.
