Poor old Manchester is getting some reputation of late. Sure it seems as though just about every documentary looking at social issues is filmed there. First there was People Like Us and now there's this one, which looks at how Tower Hamlets and Manchester councils are dealing with a lack of properties and a large number of people in need of homes at affordable rents. Mike Kemp, a former investment banker, is currently living with his family in a one-bedroom flat and has bid 400 times for social housing. However, he's on a waiting list that's about 6 years long. Yikes.
