It's the first of a two-part drama tonight starring Oscar winner Adrien Brody as the legendary illusionist and escape artist Harry Houdini. Basically the reason why we have the likes of David Blaine nowadays. Houdini was arguably America's first worldwide superstar and baffled millions with his death-defying stunts, some of which are still not fully explained. The drama will unfold from his humble beginning at circus sideshows all the way up to sold-out concert halls. Along the way he encounters many a legend, from US presidents to Sherlock writer Arthur Conan Doyle to Rasputin. Magic and history with an Oscar winner thrown in, not bad of a Sunday.
