Well, the Great British Bake Off is officially over, so maybe the Great British Menu can provide sustenance in its absence. The show sees the country’s top chefs compete for the chance to cook a four-course banquet at the Palace of Westminster. This week, in the season finale, the four courses have been selected and the winning chefs arrive at the Palace to cook for guests that include a military hero, a headteacher, volunteers and youth workers. The chosen dishes showcase contemporary British cuisine and demonstrate the transformation in British food during the Queen's historic reign, so it’s all very British and full of grandeur.
