We're trawling back through the archives at the BBC to unlock the stories behind the birth of modern art as we know it, and sure who better to tell the tale than those who were directly involved in the cultural revolution? It's time for Episode 2 this evening, and the focus shifts to Francis Bacon and his rather 'tortured' images, which were inspired by the horror of the Second World War. There'll also be some pop art from Richard Hamilton, Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol, while the vibrant paintings of David Hockney will also be featured.
