Don't know about you, but we reckon AA Gill's review of this show in The Sunday Times a few weeks back was spot on. There are moments of humour, but it's just not the right setting for Amstel. He comes across as nothing like the acerbic whippet that once hosted Nevermind the Buzzcocks. Here he's confused, weak, exceptionally poor at playing himself, and therefore painful to watch. If you're a masochist; tonight Simon falls in love. He has also read a book which leads him to believe that he might be able to control the universe. The family isn't impressed. Meanwhile, Grandpa has invited Deborah Adler to visit, but Grandma doesn't like her and is less than happy. And Liz has had to take extreme measures to try to get her son, Adam, into a new school.
