Originally supposed to be Eastwood's final acting role - until he made the terrible Trouble With The Curve - Gran Torino is one of his finest films. Playing an elderly Korean War veteran, he takes a young neighbour under his wing who's in danger of being corrupted by local criminal gangs. It's not exactly subtle in places, but Eastwood delivers some fantastic one-liners and it's all very earnest and endearing. Watch it and try forget about the whole empty chair thing from a few years ago.
