This here new six-part comedy sitcom is written and produced by Robert Popper, starring Tamsin Greig (Green Wing, Black Books, and more recently the rather disappointing Episodes), Paul Ritter (Pulling) Simon Bird (The Inbetweeners) and comedy newcomer Tom Rosenthal, plus special guest star Mark Heap (Green Wing Spaced). Friday Night Dinner is a 'truly original' series about the Goodmans, a family who have made an art form of their eccentricities. In this first episode mum (Greig) and dad (Ritter) are having a clear-out, but dad is reluctant to chuck away all his old magazines and ropes in Jonny (Rosenthal) to secretly hide the stash back at his flat, while the neighbour Jim (Heap) keeps interrupting the family dinner wanting to use their toilet as he's mysteriously broken his own loo... It might be a grower.
