Matthew Broderick stars as the precocious teenager Ferris Bueller who tricks his parents (and his classmates) into thinking he is ill in order to spend the day outside school with his girlfriend Sloane (Mia Sara) and his hypochondriac best friend (Alan Ruck). However is fun may be cut short by his jealous sister (Jennifer Grey) and his High School Principal (Jeffrey Jones). The word iconic gets thrown around a lot these days but there's really no other way to describe the teen comedy and the lasting impression it has had on popular culture in the thirty years since it was released. It's John Hughes' masterpiece and that is saying something.
