Stop everything. Ear to the Ground is back. Try and contain yourselves. Ah we shouldn't judge really, this show isn't aimed at us and is more for farmers and rural residents who will no doubt be delighted it's back. In the opening episode, Helen Carroll reports on the charity Rural Resettlement, which helps people from the city move to some of the 260,000 vacant countryside properties. Darragh McCullough finds out about the plight of tillage farmers after a disastrous harvest, and there is a visit to a young farmer who sells thousands of pumpkins every year for Halloween.
