First farmers and then factory workers battled to bring home the bacon. But ours has largely been a history of forced emigration, of tearful farewells at airports and ferry terminals. We had a brief reprieve from such scenes in the last ten years, but now it seems we're heading that way once again. Tonight TV3 goes behind the headlines and show the devastating human face of job losses - and reveal the success stories that represent our future.
