The Barlows decide to have a bit of a family meal this eve and Rob invites Carla along too. Recipe for disaster really isn't it? And a disaster it is. Peter phones, Carla and Tracy row and the pressure finally gets to Deirdre who pretty much loses the plot - sherry trifle, everywhere folks. The actress is taking a bit of a break from the show for a while so we reckon that's why there's so much teatime drama tonight - so Deirdre can go spend time with her mate 'Bev'. Elsewhere, Alya tells Gary that their kiss can't mean anything - they are from two different worlds you see, her family would never allow it. Very Shakespearean altogether, they'll be Weatherfield's answer to Romeo and Juliet yet.
