Luka Bartholemew (Iwan Rheon) is contemplating his life on the eve of his 30th birthday. From a young age, he has been the sole carer for his chronically ill mother. When he discovers that she has arranged the rarest of presents - a day off - he has a matter of hours to live out his youth. The only problem is he's stuck in Porthpunnet - Britain's premier seaside retirement community. Luka will not be beaten and does his best to enjoy his day, meeting the daring and enigmatic Dan. But things quickly turn sour, leaving Luka bloodied, bruised and at breaking point. He's rescued by Phil a middle-aged hairy biker, not exactly the knight in shining armour Luka dreamed of, but Phil takes him under his wing; offering sage advice and a cathartic ride on the back of his motorbike. Paloma Faith makes a cameo appearance from behind the till at the local supermarket. But don't let that put you off.
