This movie, set in 1950s Ireland, is based on the best selling novel by the late Maeve Binchy and is about as lovely a watch as you can get of a Thursday. It follows small town girl Benny (Minnie Driver) who moves up to the big schmoke to attend university with two of her childhood pals Nan and Eve. She's not two minutes in Trinity when a strapping young fella called Jack (Chris O'Donnell) catches her eye, while her friends also find themselves in romances of their own, one of which is with the handsome Colin Firth, no less. There are many ups and downs along the way though, and begorrah many a butchered Irish accent too.
