Alas, this year we are without the late Terry Wogan, who hosted this show for 35 years, although he had to pull out last year due to illness. The legendary broadcaster and Children in Need figurehead was honoured earlier in the week in a special concert staged at the Royal Albert Hall. Tess Daly and Greg James will be on hosting duties tonight and will be introducing the entertainment as the BBC's annual appeal night gets under way, beginning with a performance from the hit West End musical Aladdin and a special children's edition of Would I Lie to You? There will also be a performance from the cast of EastEnders, a sneak peak at the Dr Who Christmas special, a special Fantastic Beasts sketch starring Eddie Redmayne alongside Mel & Sue, as well as music from Little Mix, Busted, Take That, Zara Larsson and Ellie Goulding.
