It's on for a whole seven hours, so best make the most of it... Terry Wogan, Tess Daly and Alesha Dixon host the annual charity extravaganza, aiming to raise money for disadvantaged children across the UK, with John Daly, Eamonn Holmes and Claire McCollum leading the show from the King's Hall in Belfast. 7pm: The stars of Strictly Come Dancing get the show started with a spectacular performance, the Merlin cast conjures up ideas for this year's appeal and the eagerly anticipated Children in Need single is launched. 7.30pm: An important patient checks into Holby General, JLS give a special performance and a chance to see a bite-sized episode of Walk on the Wild Side. Plus, the presenters introduce a special edition of Panic Attack, in which Stephen Nolan challenges local celebrities including May McFettridge, Eoghan Quigg and Ben Clarke to a battle of wits, and check on Gavin Andrews' charity challenge to cycle across Ulster. We could go on, but there's faaaar too much to mention. Just succumb to the madness, and be sure to have the remote handy whenever a band of newscasters invariably burst into song.
