The time-travelling documentary reaches the 1960s, a decade that saw employment at an all-time high. With three out of four people working in manual or clerical jobs, secondary modern schools were expected to train pupils with the skills they needed to secure a job at the age of 15. For the teenagers, they are about to experience a more hands-on approach to education than ever before. However, the girls are disconcerted to discover some of their lessons are still segregated as they learn to type and to be good wives, while the boys are taught bricklaying and even take driving lessons.
